The end of my ISpeech....
We will need more professional development courses to learn about Common Core. We will need to get more technology in the schools to document and construct our curriculum.
In our school this past year, we used CC for our Math series. They took away our Math books, and gave us a general guideline of what to teach each quarter. It was a virtual train wreck..but a “work in progress”.. as they said! Each day was a hands-on activity with the students. I tried to pair them up with students who were pretty much understanding the standard that day. For next year, they have revamped our Math curriculum and it should be an easier year to teach. We will have 1 week to teach each standard!
Next year we will begin the “train wreck” called Language Arts Common Core!!
Wish us luck!!
